Chevonna Gaylor is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT CA89366) and Mental Health Expert. Chevonna currently serves in the city of Seattle as PDA’s Director of Education and Resiliency and previously as Clinical Consultant for Community Passageways/Regional Peacekeepers Collective, addressing clinical matters related to individuals facing homelessness and community violence. Although Chevonna has experience with most populations, she specializes in trauma-informed and culturally conscious services. She oversees a private psychotherapy practice in Southern California and is the published author of ‘The Emerging Healer: Adding insight and impact to your mental health work.’ Chevonna is a UCLA alumni, international speaker and trainer. She combines her 20+ years of clinical experience, education, trainings/certification and overall life experiences to present as skilled, yet relatable. Chevonna previously worked as a Psychiatric Liaison in the Emergency Department of Tri City Medical Center and Clinical Director for SoteriaSpace (soteria.), offering clinical support in non-traditional settings like Coachella, Stagecoach, Mardi Gras and other large scale events. Chevonna was appointed as the 2020 Board President of her local California Marriage and Family Therapist Chapter (Southwest Riverside CAMFT). Through her work, Chevonna serves as a fierce advocate for representation in the mental health industry, suicide prevention, the eradication of community violence and human trafficking. Most importantly, Chevonna is a wife, mother, encourager to all and loves to travel.
